Complex Bowel Care
We understand the importance of specialised and compassionate care for participants with complex health needs, including those requiring complex bowel care. Our experienced and highly trained team is here to provide dignified, safe, and effective bowel management support, ensuring comfort and promoting the overall well-being of our participants.
What is Complex Bowel Care?
Complex bowel care involves a range of bowel management procedures for individuals who have a medical condition or disability that affects their ability to manage their bowel movements independently. It includes the assessment, monitoring, and support of bowel health to prevent complications such as constipation, incontinence, or bowel obstruction.
Our services are tailored to meet the individual needs of each participant, whether they require assistance with:
-
Manual bowel evacuation
-
Enema administration
-
Suppository insertion
Our Approach
Our approach to complex bowel care is centred around respect, comfort, and personalised support.
All care plans are developed by a Registered Nurse and are continuously monitored to ensure their effectiveness. We document progress through detailed notes every three months and review each care plan every six months to adjust as needed for optimal results.
We work closely with participants, their families, and healthcare providers to ensure the bowel care plan is effective and tailored to the individual’s unique needs.

Our Complex Bowel Care services fall under the NDIS Core Supports category, specifically under High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (NDIS Support Code: 0104).
