Complex Mouth Care
We provide specialised Complex Mouth Care services for participants who require assistance with maintaining oral hygiene due to their medical condition or disability. Our experienced team ensures that participants receive the oral care they need to prevent complications, promote comfort, and maintain overall health.
What is Complex Mouth Care?
Complex mouth care involves assisting participants who cannot independently perform oral hygiene tasks such as brushing teeth, cleaning dentures, or managing oral infections. Proper mouth care is essential to prevent oral infections, gum disease, and other complications that can arise from poor oral hygiene.
Our Complex Mouth Care services include:
-
Brushing and flossing teeth
-
Cleaning and maintaining dentures
-
Oral care for participants with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia)
-
Managing dry mouth (xerostomia) and oral infections
-
Regular monitoring of the mouth for signs of infection or complications
Our Approach
Our approach to Complex Mouth Care focuses on dignity, respect, and individual needs.
Care plans are developed and monitored by a Registered Nurse, ensuring that each participant receives personalised, effective oral care that addresses their specific condition. Care plans are reviewed regularly, with progress notes prepared every three months and care plan reviews every six months.
We collaborate with participants, their families, and healthcare providers to ensure that oral care is delivered effectively, preventing discomfort, infections, and complications.
NDIS Support Category and Code
Our Complex Mouth Care services fall under the NDIS Core Supports category, specifically under High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (NDIS Support Code: 0104).
This category supports participants who require high-intensity care, including specialized mouth care.
Pricing
Our services are aligned with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits for High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (Code 0104).
The cost will depend on the level of care required. Please contact us for a personalised quote based on your NDIS plan and individual needs.
